Explain how labs will work. Put the lab schedule here. Put your expectations for labs (their conduct, their attention, their amount of practice during labs)
Week 1
August 13- Athletic Training Room
Expectations for Lab
Come to lab ready to learn and in a timely matter. We will start right when the bell rings and will end when the bell rings, so you will be busy the entire class. Pay attention to the material presented. Questions are encouraged in my class so be thinking of things to ask. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Some of the things you will learn you will not be amazing at the first time you do them. The more you practice the better you will get at that activity.
Objective
The objective of this lab is to get students the general idea of what it takes to take care of an athletic training room with all its daily duties. Students will be shown how to set up the field for games, how to log their game hours, Ice bag making, how to wrap ice bags on various body parts, and the different types of wraps that can be used to wrap on ice, they will learn what to wear at games they are working, and become familiar with the Med bags.
August 14- Athletic Training Room
The objective of this lab is to get to know where things are at in the athlete training room. Students will be required to find each item on a list that will get them better acquainted with everything in the training room. Once the students have found everything on their list they will help prepare the Med kits for games. They will learn what items are needed in the Med kits to be prepared for most any athletic injury or other situations you can encounter as an athletic trainer.
